There are two Haad Thian beaches on Koh Phangan. Both are small beautiful beaches tucked away from the world. One is in the south east of the island, just north of Haad Rin, and is a place to study meditation, yoga and Tai Chi. The other Haad Thian beach is in the north west and is easily accessible by road from Thongsala. There is only one resort on Haad Thian (west) beach. This means that guests at Haad Thian Beach Resort get their own private beach. The sand on the beach is a bit course because it is mixed with coral deposits. There's a coral reef not far out from the beach. This makes swimming better during the high tides from November to April. There is, however, a pool at Haad Thian Beach Resort to make up for this deficiency.
